The Orthodox Church in Japan has a unique history that began with St. Nicholas, a Russian missionary who brought Orthodoxy to the country in the 19th century. Despite challenges like the Russo-Japanese War, the Church took root in Japan thanks to the dedication of St. Nicholas and Japanese converts. Today, the Orthodox Church in Japan is a small but vibrant community with the Nikorai-do Cathedral in Tokyo as its center. The legacy of St. Nicholas, who emphasized respect for Japanese culture, continues to inspire.
The Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia actively supports communities through various charities and outreach programs.
These include St Raphael's Mission, providing aid to the homeless; the Antiochian Welfare Association, addressing poverty and hardship; and the Antiochian Youth Centre, nurturing faith and community in young people. Individual parishes also conduct local outreach programs.
You can support these initiatives by volunteering, donating, or partnering with an organization.

Nothing inspires us more than the Orthodox Churches of the world. Every time we travel to these churches, we cannot help but feel awe and become, even if only for a little while, members of the local Orthodox communities. Faith, Hospitality, Community, Family... values that are the same and strong in all parts of the world, grow and develop our Orthodoxy, which continuously gains new members, proving clearly that it is the Religion of the Future.
We are "present" in the decoration of two more Holy Temples, Saint Michael in Los Angeles and Anastasis in Tucson. With our icons adorning the interiors of the Churches, we are proud to have had the opportunity to contribute to the preservation of Orthodox tradition and to support local communities in the United States. We hope that these Holy Temples will continue to be centers of spiritual life and social cohesion for Orthodox Christians in the area.
We warmly thank Father Timothy and Father Gabriel ... whom we now feel like friends for their help and, above all, for their trust!
