The Art of Ioannina — The Tradition Continues
Silversmithing in Ioannina has roots reaching back through the centuries, with particularly significant activity from the period of the Despotate of Epirus onwards. The distinctive character of this craft is expressed through techniques such as hammering, repoussé and chasing, filigree and niello, which give each piece a three-dimensional form. And, of course, always in solid silver!
Our latest creation, made using this same technique, is now on its way to Romania. The moment they saw the hanging vigil lamp, they were delighted!
